We represent the aircraft owner, not the maintenance provider, not the manufacturer, not any other commercial party. That independence is the foundation of everything we do.
Our processes have been refined over fourteen years of continuous operation and are supported by a purpose-written professional indemnity policy from Lloyd’s of London. We work closely with CASA and the FAA, alongside partner companies in London, Canada, and the United States of America.
Founder & Managing Director
Mick Rowbottom
Mick’s career in aviation began as an apprentice aircraft maintenance engineer with Hawker De Havilland at Perth Airport. He is a licensed engineer across multiple aircraft types and a qualified Lead Auditor Assessor through ETRS Stebbing.
Over 44 years he progressed through senior management roles in corporate aviation, including General Manager at Avwest, and has worked on aircraft management and business jet programmes across most parts of the world.
He holds qualifications in Business and Quality Management from Curtin University, along with a CASR Part 66 Engineering Licence. Together, these reflect the blend of commercial understanding and technical depth that underpins how RAS operates.
Beyond client work, Mick sits on the CASA Delegate Advisory Board and the Edith Cowan University Engineering Advisory Committee — two roles that keep RAS connected to the direction of the industry and the standards that shape it. He also mentors new CASA Delegates, committing to two candidates per year.

Maintenance Controller
Rachel Colley
Rachel’s career in aviation began as an apprentice aircraft maintenance engineer with Hawker De Havilland at Perth Airport. She is a licensed engineer across multiple aircraft types and a qualified Safety and Lead Auditor through Southpac Aerospace.
Over 39 years she progressed through Engineering roles in RPT, charter and general aviation, including time spent overseas operating under various national authorities with corresponding engineering licences. She has set up maintenance facilities, maintained fleet maintenance programs/records and operated in remote environments.
She has experience and qualifications in auditing, crash investigation, workplace training, CASA Delegate authority, HAAMC and Maintenance Controller roles, along with a CASR Part 66 Engineering Licence. Together, her regulatory understanding and technical knowledge depth supports RAS operations and clients.
